SHOTS ARE WRETCHED!

WOW! I never knew how bad it would be until it happened. I am so glad that my mother-in-law could come. Troy was supposed to come, but he had a meeting all day so last minute he cancelled. Not nice to do to a FREAKED out mother. I did get lucky because Lynda held her down while the nurse did it, I do not think I could have dont it. I can't believe how horrible their little cry is, like nothing you have ever heard :( nor want to hear again. Right now she is sleeping, must be the Tylenol they gave her, poor thing. I was told she will be fussy for the next 24-36 hours...lets hope not, I will do my best to soothe and comfort her.
On a better note, she is in the 95% percentile for weight and height! This means that if she were with 100 babies her age, she would be taller and heavier than 94 of them! HAH! She definitely is a Sherman. She is almost 24 inches tall and weighs 12lb 9oz. The doctor was happy to see all of her growth and how well she was doing. She also told me that we are not supposed to do solid foods ( meaning anything other than formula) until 6 months now! Usually its like 3 1/2 or 4 months! I was floored. She said too many babies are starting to have food allergies early, so they believe it might be because the food is started too early. We will see! I was excited to get to do it in a bit so that she would sleep longer, but alas I will need to be patient. I need to follow dr's orders :) I will post a pic of Lucy's poor little bandaged legs soon !

Handmade gifts are the best!

This isn't the greatest picture of the present or Lucy but I wanted to get it online anyway! My mother-in-law's friend Susan Hicks sent us a package that included a handmade quilt and tag blanket! Aren't they adorable!!! The backside of the tag blanket is green silky...and the backside of the quilt is the polka dot material..and to top it off, the polka dot material is made of minky! She is in love with the softness and I am in love at the cuteness! THANK YOU SUSAN!!! We will forever treasure these items!!

Valentine's, Long Beach, Baby Bjorn

For Valentine's day Troy and I decided we wouldn't get each other anything...however we both somehow never follow that rule. He actually got me the beautiful necklace that I am wearing in the picture above. Lucy loves it as well! This was the best picture we could get of it while I was holding Lucy. I framed 3 pictures of Troy, Lucy and I for his office so he would have something to brag about! :) We went out to Outback for the night and G & G Sherman baby-sat for us. Then we drove to Santa Ana so I could get some Pinkberry! My favorite dessert!! It was a great night.
So Troy and I finally tried out the Baby Bjorn. We love it! I need a little assistance when using it at the moment, but it is so fun and Lucy loves it too! These pictures are of when we went for a walk...funny thing we were trying to be good and exercise but we actually walked to Albertson's and got stuff to make strawberry shortcake! Way to lose those pregnancy pounds Sarah! Oh well they were delish! AND, Lucy fell asleep 3 minutes after we started walking and it was quite chilly outside to boot.

Making fun of Lucy's sad face. We think it is quite adorable!

Soo we went to Long Beach and walked around and had dinner with our friends Danielle and Brad...then went over to their place to play the Wii. Wellll...it was beautiful at our house, so we figured it would be great to be down in LB. However we didn't realize how COLD and WINDY it would be close to the water. Poor Lucy, we had to feed her in the HORRIBLE weather ...and of course this was the one time that I didn't bring 100 blankets and overprepare. The picture above is her FREEZING her hiny off.
I used the Baby Bjorn for the first time in Long Beach, see it works like a charm! Except for the freezing weather part, that actually kept her quite awake.

Notice the Queen Mary in the back? Awesome!

We finally bundled Lucy up with everything we had, and I had to take some cute pictures of her.

Last weekend

On Saturday we took a trip to Balboa and the Wedge. Troy decided to take some pictures to remember Lucy's first beach trip!

I just love this picture. It doesn't even really look like her to me...but it is SOO cute and candid.
Every time we put her face in the sun ( good dose of Vitamin D by the way) she would close her eyes and stay really calm. I can tell she is going to be a sun bather when she gets older like her momma.
This is to prove we really were at the beach. It isn't the greatest picture but it proves the point.

This was after church on Sunday...it was a beautiful day so we decided to get some cool shots! Above is our "family picture"
Our adorable little girl getting her beauty sleep. In fact she slept through all ( or most ) of church! And 3 hours is a LONG time! :) much better than the sunday before.
Here is a shot of how she always looks when she is sleeping..unless we have her swaddled. Arms in the air, legs crossed....this sweater dress and red tights was so cute on her!
Our friend Claire caught such a great shot!

Bath and Valentine's

Another cute out of the bath picture, this time using her robe for the first time.
Valentine's...so I tried to take some pictures one day when I realized she was wearing red and it is February and close to Valentine's. She is such a doll!

Road Trip and Superbowl

Well here is just a plain cute picture! (mid-yawn while dad burps her)

Superbowl...We went to our my friend Claire’s house to watch the Superbowl and I basically didn’t hold my daughter the entire time. Claire and her sister Danielle were fighting over who got to hold her..it was very nice. They both do not have kids and want them desperately, and I have been told by many that Lucy makes people either a.) want to have more kids or b.) want to HAVE kids! I think their husbands were a little mad at me and our influence by the end of the day! We also made new friends with a couple that is due to have a baby the beginning of March. I am so excited for Lucy to have sooo many friends and cousins her age!

Mesmerized by the game as you can tell!

Claire and Lucy is above ( right after Lucy barfed all over her without a burp cloth)

The picture below is of her sister Danielle and Lucy.

Ok so I figured out how to drag and drop pictures on my last post but can't figure it out now, and I can't figure out how to write above this picture....so starting with the picture above and going down....is of our first road trip with Lucy. We left on Thursday. We went to Vegas to visit her new cousin Emma that was born on Superbowl Sunday. Emma’s parents are Troy’s cousin Chad and his wife Sarah. It was a very exciting yet SHORT trip. Grandma Lynda and Lucy and I left Thursday at about 1pm and got back Friday night! We were able to do a little shopping at the Barstow and Las Vegas outlets for Lucy, visit Emma, and visit more cousins, Jen and David. We barely slept and were on the go every minute, and Lucy was the BEST baby the entire time! She is such a doll. The picture above is of Chad with Emma and Grandma Lynda with Lucy.
