Rascal Flatts

On our way to dinner....
Jessica Simpson's background....

She wasn't good AT ALL, she messed up on her lines in two different songs
and started the ENTIRE songs over!!

We LOVED their sets! Here are some pictures of the different sets they had..our camera died within the first 20 minutes of the show so we didn't get much.

Life is a HIGGGGGHWAY! I want to ride it...all night LONG!

My favorite in the band...hehe...
All three of them!!!

So a few weekends ago, March 14th to be exact, Troy and I celebrated getting my pink slip...I know sounds weird..he suprised me with Rascal Flatts tickets!! Our favorite band! We went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill and then headed out to Irvine Meadows! It was SO much fun! Thank you Troy for always thinking of me and wanting to make me feel better. You succeeded!!!

Troy's bday cake

Troy's cousins made him a GIANT golf ball cake...they put a lot of hard work and effort into it!! Thanks Maren, Mayson, Maddy, and Morgan! It was delish!

Poor baby

Ok I am procrastinating MAJORLY!!! I have dishes to do, laundry to fold, and papers to grade ( open house in two days) and I AM BLOGGING!!! This happened tonight..10 minutes before bed time....Troy and Lucy were outside and she walked up some cement steps and was trying to get down off the stairs...and well..she fell..and did a somersault down them and banged her eye on the edge of a cement stair. Needless to say it was SO SAD. She calmed down in not too long..but I am scared to see what her eye looks like in the morning . Her second REAL injury since walking. Her first? Long story. Basically she stuck her fingers inside the lugnut hole of my mother in laws wheel on her car. Hard to explain, but she burned the tops of THREE of her fingers and it was pretty gross for about a week. Blistered, peeling, and the whole bit. We don't have any pictures of it..but take it from me it was nasty. And the scars are still there..I hope that they go away!!

The last few weeks...

So I dont even remember the last time I posted...all i know is life has been CRAZY for the past couple of weeks. Mostly work has been crazy for me. We have been having lots of fun as a family as well..so all in all that is why I haven't posted in so long. Busy busy weekdays and then even busier weekends!!! I have tons of pics but nothing uploaded...and I promise to upload after this Wednesday which will be after my Open House at school. That is the big thing going on this week..and last week was our Exibition. Exhibition is basically a culminating project that our 5th graders started in December. This year it was based on natural disasters. They had to come up with 8 key questions to research and then research them, and work on a presentation to show adults, ( and then a lot of them made a 2nd presentation for kids) and come up with a way to change the world now that they know this research. ( what we call "action") For example, one of the groups studied about blizzards, so for their action they made flyers for the Red Cross ( East Coast Red Crosses) to distribute about how to stay safe in a blizzard, they also sold ice cream after school and donated all of the money to the Red Cross. The kids were adorable and this year we had the kids presentations at NIGHT. ( which was huge for them) and there were 17 different stations around the school, each presenting their findings.
It was SO MUCH FUN but I am glad it's over.
Now onto Open House!!!

With the fam-- last weekend we hung out a lot with Troy's cousins that were down from Utah and we celebrated Troy's bday by golfing! Yes you read that right, GOLFING! Grandma Lynda watched Lucy and Troy and I went out to Hemet and played 18 holes. Well I played less than 18, in fact I slept on the golf cart for the last 4 holes...but hey, who's counting?? hehe. He loved it and so did I. It was SO relaxing and beautiful! That night we went to El Torito Grill ( our favorite!!) for dinner with Lucy. This weekend on Friday night out with one of Troy's friends that he served with in the Philippines who lives now in Utah. He came down for the weekend and Troy spent all day Friday with him playing golf and then we all went to dinner and the spectrum after. Troy was really happy to see him, and also REALLY wants to set him up with someone because he is single and a really nice guy! So anyone out there want to go on a date? Let me know. He is willing to come back to CA for the date too!! Nice guy huh? He really was a sweet guy. Then on Saturday we went to Sea World! We got passes, and are so excited! We may not be able to get Disney passes this year if I don't keep my job, so we decided Sea World will do for now. I forgot how much I LOVE SAN DIEGO. I really would like to eventually buy our first real home there if we ever get the opportunity. And today is Sunday at 1pm and Troy just woke up. Well he was in the ER at 3 in the morning due to EXTREME leg pain. He has had it almost every night for a week and last night he couldn't take it anymore. Well he came home with the news that he has to take Motrin 800mg three times a day to see if that helps. WHATEVER! We are going to make an appt. for him with his real dr. to see if they can figure out what it is. It only hurts at night though...very strange! We will keep you informed!
ok thats it for now, like i said, pics to come!
Oh! And just to document---because I have been bad at that lately!!! Lucy has been completely off bottles now for about a month. It was the easiest thing to do and I was so scared! She was on two a day after 12 months, one at nap and one at bedtime. Then we stopped the naptime one at 13 months and stopped the bedtime at 14 months. We just did it cold turkey and she could care less! Pah! for my worries!!!!

Feeling crafty????

Making handcrafted items is a dying art, but they are so fun to make & get! So, here's a little game to encourage the handcrafting to live & thrive!! The first {5} people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a super-duper handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well-before you leave your comment here, write up (or copy & paste as I did!) a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back, let me know you're going to play, and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Remember that only the first FIVE comments will receive a gift from me, so be quick! This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! But I will try my best to make sure you like it 2. It will be done this year (hopefully sooner than later.) 3. You will have no clue what it is going to be.
Thanks to my friend Mari Bell for this cute idea!!!!

Dinner date again with the Smith's

These pictures playing the Wii should go at the bottom but I can't figure out how to change the order so oh well! Here is Troy doing push ups on the Wii Fit.

Matt about to give up on doing the same!

But he got back into it. ( It's TOUGH!)

Park date with Lucy and Braden

It's adorable how cute these two pics are of Lucy.....and then you see.....
My "Real" child. HAHAHA dinnertime is ALWAYS messy.

Braden just watched her mess, and stayed VERY CLEAN.
Every inch of her was CRUSTED! We loved it! ( what else are you going to do?)

Matt "hula hooping" with the Wii Fit.
Me attempting ....I failed miserably.
Christine attempting...

Matt and Braden cheering Christine along !!
We love our friends Matt and Christine and their son Braden. We hang out with them whenever we can. They are GREAT friends and so easy to have fun with. Last weekend we went to the Irvine Park Railroad together ( I will post pics soon). Tonight they came over for Taco Soup ..and ...well from the pics you know what else happened!!!

Grandma Lynda's B-day

We went to a restaurant in San Juan Capistrano right near the train station. It was a neat atmosphere to be in and Lucy (of course) had fun. Here is our little family.
Bryce ( Troy's brother) and his wife Kara.

Lynda and Steve ( Troy's parents)

Lucy being silly.

A Trip to Grandma's

You have to know about my father in law in order to enjoy this picture. Here he is covered up with an Obama blanket. Let's just say it was given to him by a friend as a joke. He is a Republican, to say the least. :)
Lucy and Grandma playing a little toy piano.

My cute little girl.
Loving the froggy.

Playing with a Thomas the train top. I can't believe my mother in law was able to find one! I love tops!
It was such a beautiful day!
