Girls Night Out!

So I decided this year that I was going to try to coordinate a Girls Night Out for the ladies I work with once a month. I invited all girls and we got a pretty good turn out this month! We went ( last night ) to the LA County Fair. Let me tell you, it is SO much better than the OC fair! It is HUGE! The only downfall I felt was that it was 101 degrees at 5pm. BLEH! We had SO much fun! We sat a one table and ate dinner and talked for nearly two hours! I decided next month we just need to go to dinner, so that way we can all just sit and visit like we did this time. We did get to do some walking around, and most of the group stayed much later than I did. I wish I could have stayed longer but I was EXHAUSTED and have a horrible head cold, so I needed to go home and sleep!
My friends.... Spanish teacher Natalie, my partner in crime Jen ( who teaches 5th with me ) me, Amy who teaches speech, and Tara who teaches 4th.
Eating! YES!
The new person added to this picture in the red is Diva, who also teaches 5th with us.
Anna, Title I Coordinator and computer Goo Roo and dear friend.......well....enough is described in the picture....no words needed!

New friends added to this picture are Jean ( who used to teach 1st and now teaches at the middle school ), her daughter Jen, me in the middle, Kat who teaches RSP and is Anna's daughter, and Lisa who teaches 3rd. Who hoo! What a great group of girls!
Hadn't see these before so I HAD to take a picture!
Kat and Anna. Once again, enough said!

Cheeeeeeeesy

I have been cooking up a storm lately and I just had to shoot a picture of Wednesday's meal before it went in the oven. HOLY MOLY that is a LOT of cheese!
It looks like less than it is. It is a pound, freshly grated by my wonderful husband. MMMM!! I love cheese!

Dinner with friends

Last week we met up with our friend Amber and her family. She is actually Troy's friend James' sister. She has a little girl Taylor who is three weeks older than Lucy. They were in town from Utah for a job interview for her husband. We hope that they move to CA! We met at CPK and the girls were being quite a handful, but we enjoyed the time just the same. Afterwards we went to Pinkberry! WHO HOO! They had never had Pinkberry before so I HAD to introduce it to them! I love introducing food places to friends! I cant tell you how many people I have introduced Chick-Fil-A too and got people seriously HOOKED! ( That place is the best!)
Lucy ACTUALLY sharing her goldfish while we waited for dinner.
" Have fishy Taylor! "
Amber and I with the girls after dinner.
Running and playing...what they really wanted to do throughout all of dinner!

Can we say timeout?

Here is something that is new for Lucy. As she is getting older, eating is getting way messier. I thought it would be the other way around! ugh! Seems that she likes to eat right off of the tablecloth, no need for a plate!

Lucy's Stats- 20 months

Well most of you know already, but Lucy has been sick for the past few days. High High fever that just won't go away. Two doctor visits and four days later...they say its either a.) virus b.) roseola c.) bladder infection. They say if her fever persists another day or so, bring her in for a urine test. We will see. I really hope that she is ok, I just want my little girl back! This fussiness and sad face little girl makes me melt!

However, I wanted to post her 20 month stats since we checked them at the doctor.
Height = 35 inches - 97 % percentile
Weight = 30 lbs.- 94% percentile

She is on her way to 2 years old!!!! ( sniff sniff )

Date Night with the Sullivan's

Last night we went out with Stephanie and Michael. We have done quite a few things with them and somehow they never make it on the blog! I feel so bad! Steph kinda gave me a hard time about it...so I need to catch up soon on our events! Last night we got babysitters and met at the Lazy Dog Cafe outside the stadium for dinner. It was delicious and fun to try a new restaurant! Then we went to an Angels game. I don't remember much of the game, other than the fact we had great seats! We talked most of the time, and had SO much fun! It was so nice to be able to catch up without kids dragging us away, just to be able to focus on each other. I highly recommend date nights, and I highly recommend couples date nights as well!
View from our seats.
Lady with a WEIRD hairdo.

I had a gift card from my birthday that I hadn't used yet, so I was able to get myself a new hat ( I LOVE IT! ) and Troy a jersey!! ( they had great deals that night!!) So here we are sporting our gear.
And the night ended with a bang! Thanks for the great night guys! We wished we lived closer!!!

Our Labor Day Weekend

So we had plans to go out of town...take a little trip to San Diego or Santa Barbara...however we decided against it last minute due to the expense. We figured we would have a relaxing, fun weekend at home doing whatever we felt like, whenever we felt like it. It was a success! Friday morning while I was working, Troy brought Lucy to my work as a surprise. It was so nice of him@ Every time he does this type of thing I am shocked because it takes SO long to come to my work, and it is completely out of the way, yet he does it anyway! My kids ( of course ) loved Troy and Lucy. Whenever Troy comes for the first time during the school year and meets my kids we do a "hot seat." He sits in front of the class and they get to ask him whatever they want for 5 minutes. The best questions this year were, " Do you like pink? ( Troy was wearing a pink shirt that day ) Do you like Star Wars? Do you like football...baseball....basketball? Do you like the Angels like Mrs. Sherman does? Who is your favorite player? Do you like Greek Mythology?" Yes, random questions, but so cute! I love my class this year....well I always love them!

Friday night we went on a date night. My mom came over and watched Lucy. Before we left, we went to the sno cone place again and my mom and Lucy shared one. I caught them and took some pictures.

Troy and I went to Simply Fondue ( a fondue place right by our house---his choice ) and then we went and saw Halloween 2 ( my choice! ) Both were super fun! Since it was our first time doing the fondue thing, I had to document most of the night. I didn't get the salads in, but I got the rest!
I am on a pepperjack kick right now, so we had pepperjack cheese fondue and it was AMAZING. Especially with the apples and the cranberry walnut bread.
Our meats and vegetables.

Stuffed jalapenos and mushrooms that we dipped in batter and fried. The mushrooms were AMAZING.
The chocolate and items to dip!

Caution: the following pictures are not flattering but are candid. What the heck!

Saturday we went to Huntington Beach Dog Beach and took Ellie for the first time. It was a lot of fun. Ellie loved playing with the dogs ( did not enjoy nor go near the water ) and Lucy LOVED the water and the waves!

Sunday we went to the Grove in Los Angeles. We had been wanting to go FOREVER and when we got there, we wondered why we had wanted to go for so long. It is fun, but not as fun when you have a little one with you that can't sit for long in a lot of different stores. It still was a good trip though. We had dinner at Wood Ranch. The picture below is of Lucy trying on a Halloween costume in the Children's Place. She was a little fairy. She had a wand and was banging it on everything. I can't wait until Halloween. I don't know what Lucy is going to be, but it will be so much fun!

These pictures are our attempts at sunset pictures from the Grove parking structure.
Monday we went to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe ( my favorite for breakfast ) and then went to our friend and cousin Monica and Randy's house in Corona. The following pictures are of Lucy bobbing not for apples..but for sodas in their tins. It was so cute!

All wet and cold from dunking her head in. Although it didn't stop her!

" I think I will just use my hands! "
Jack pot!
Don't worry, it was closed.
Monica taking pictures probably for her blog.

It was a great, fun-filled weekend! May there be many more!
