Just thought I would give an update on Lucy. We went to her ENT appt. on Friday morning and basically the dr. said that if an ear infection doesn't clear after 4 months, there is a 90% chance it won't clear up at all. So he said Lucy has had her infection for 2 months now ( that we are aware of), so come back in two more months and see if it has gone away yet. Argh!! A little frustrating because her ears could end up being worse, and then she could possibly be losing hearing..but I am going to stay positive and say that she will be fine and the infection will be gone by then.
If not...he said we would talk about tubes.
My appt.= this coming Wed. wish me luck. My sinuses themselves feel better, but I still can't hear out of my right ear and I have had pains on my whole right side of my face for awhile now...so we will see. I have a feeling I might not get much news...but we will hope for the best.
Also---between now and March 13th I should be receiving a pink slip. Yes. My district says they have to cut teachers from 2003 to present. I was hired in 2004. I am PRAYING that something happens and they decide they can find money elsewhere and not have to cut so many teachers....but if I dont hear anything soon I am going to be interviewing for a new job. So if anyone knows of any place that is hiring..doesn't have to be teaching, please let me know!
This has been quite rough on us...and all the teachers in CA basically! There are 8 teachers at my school getting pink slips. We call ourselves the "Crazy Eight." We are sticking together and helping each other through it all.
I know at some point I will look back on this stage of sickness in our family and rough economic times and I will have learned a lot. Sometimes you just wish you could glimpse into the future....notice I said glimpse..not SEE. Oh well.
Off to doing report cards every night this week until they are completed. I am going to blog pictures soon I promise! The tone has been pretty dismal this week due to me getting the news about the pink slip so I need to start being happy and taking pictures!
Have a great rest of your weekend! I know we will! There is one wonderful thing to report, I LOVE MY FAMILY! I am so grateful for my loving and supportive husband Troy and my ADORABLE daughter. I just have to say that this time in her life so far is my most favorite. I need to remember that. A lot of people say 6 months..I say 13-14 months!

update on US
So there are no pictures...I wasn't about taking the camera this weekend ...although we were VERY busy.
Friday night I was able to go to my teammate Jen's shower in Chino Hills..it was so much fun! There was good food, fun friends ( its nice to spend time with coworkers WITHOUT being at school) and I got to hold Jen's sisters baby Leilah who is 5 weeks old. I held her for a LONG time and it was so relaxing, it's so funny that it feels like SO long ago that Lucy was that small!
Saturday we took Ellie to the dog park in Laguna canyon for some time to get all her energy out. She LOVED it. We then were making it home just in time to get Lucy down for her nap we had a birthday party to go to...and we realized we had locked ourselves out of the house. Yikes! This is like the 4th or 5th time at least that we had done this. We borrowed a ladder from a neighbor and Troy climbed into the 2nd story like usual, but this was at least an hour later...which made us late for the birthday party..but it all worked out fine. We went to Braden's 1st birthday ( he is the boy that Lucy is always with in pictures) and we hung out at the park where his party was until it was almost dark! At this point I was feeling pretty tired and my right eye was looking pretty horrible. We had my friend Claire's shower/bday party to go to, but I decided we needed to actually stay home due to my sick looking eye. Good thing because.......
Sunday i woke up with a SWOLLEN, CRUSTED, BLOOD RED eye!!! Lovely details, I know. I decided I had to go to my church meetings and then worry about my eye..thinking it may get better. I went to my first meeting at 7am ( sick and wrong---this is the time I now have church meetings on Sunday) and then came home, visited with Lucy and Troy, and went back for another meeting at 10am. Church then started at 11:30, and by the time it came to be about 1pm I thought my eye was going to need to be surgically removed. Pink eye, most definitely. Its just annoying, not PAINful, just ANNOYING! You want to itch it so bad but yet cant. I REALLY dont want Lucy to get it either so I was very careful. We came home, put Lucy down for a nap, and then our home teachers came over ( friends who visit us once a month and give us a lesson out of the scriptures) and I decided it was time to head to Urgent Care. I was there for 3 and a half hours!!!! Just to be diagnosed with what I already knew.
Oh well---- I am just happy that Lucy does not have it!
Health update!!!
-Lucy went to the doctor Friday for a check up from a month ago when she had an ear infection. They said it is STILL there. NOT GOOD. Troy refused to put her on antibiotics for the 6th time since she was born, and the dr. referred us to a ear, nose and throat doctor. The office called me today and scheduled a hearing test before her appt ( ummm that doesnt sound good) but it isnt until March 20th. Troy is going to see if he can get it earlier. I wonder if they will put tubes in her ears? We will see .......poor baby.
- I still have my sinus infection and now pink eye, and I received some news about my cat scan even though I havent see the head and neck dr yet. Another dr who looked at it emailed me and said that I do have a crooked ( deviated) spetum and I will more than likely require surgery because it doesnt drain. I have my appt. for next week. We will see what happens there!!!
lots of drama in the Sherman household. Troy is leaving this weekend to go to St. George to play golf all day Saturday...so if anyone is around and wants to hang out let me know!!
Oh AND, there are BIG chances I could get a pink slip at my work ( thanks budget cuts) and if I do, I am applying ANYWHERE that is hiring.
Lots of things up in the air right now...
lots of prayers happening !!!
Hope everyone had a great Monday!!

Valentine's Day
One of my presents to Troy was this apple pie. It is a tradition to have this pie after I take my annual field trip to Riley's Farms with my kiddos. It is in Oak Glen. I have yet to go there for anything other than a field trip, but I have seen on lots of my friends blogs that there are plenty of other things to do !
Oh, my other present to Troy was Wii Fit!!! It has been so much fun! We opened the box around 11:00pm tonight and it is now 12:40am and we are going strong!!
A Valentine present from Grandma Lynda to Lucy. A matching bathing suit and cover up! Perfect for Hawaii when we go in June!

Grandma Lynda also got us a gift certificate to Ciao Pasta! And this adorable tshirt that I wore on Friday to school.
Troy really wanted to take a picture of me while we were waiting for our table.
We tried to get an upclose...one of my presents for Valentine's day was this BEAUTIFUL necklace that I have been adoring for awhile, and matching earrings. Sorry the top of my head is cut off but its not the point of the picture anyway!
Doesn'y my chicken look like its in the shape of a heart!?! I HAD to get a pic!
Well it has been an eventful weekend and it's only Sat. night! I was at urgent care yesterday and Troy this morning! I have yet again another sinus infection ( or actually the one I have had since the beginning of December just hasn't gone away yet) and it got REALLY bad yesterday. So I went yet again to get checked out and this time they said that I may have a polyp in my nasal cavity or a deviated septum. Sooo, I have to get a cat scan this week and then go to a head and neck specialist the week following to find out the details of the cat scan. I guess I can hope for the deviated septum surgery and then I can get a cuter nose?!? I have ALWAYS hated my nose so it might work out in the end for me. But for now, I am on more antibiotics and a lot of the same stuff I was taking before and I am having to do a sinus rinse with something called the Neti Pot. I will spare you from the real details, but what it does is you put this pot of water into one nostril, and tilt your head, and then everything flushes through your other nostril. I have to do this two times a day for a couple months they say. We will see how I do!!
Troy on the other hand, was installing Lucy's blinds in her room ( they had to be special ordered because her window is much longer than most windows) and poor guy...he screwed a screw INTO his finger!!! Sick huh? So he went to Urgent care and they said that he almost got to the bone! There was tissue and fatty stuff hanging out! UGH! They said they can't do stitches for such a gash so they put a pressure bandage on it and gave him antibiotics!
We do have a very happy daughter though...she isnt teething at the moment so she is sleeping really good, and she is happily walking and playing ( thank you to no rain today) and is doing great even though mom and dad aren't!
Tonight my mom came over and watched Lucy and we went to Outback and saw a movie thanks to the kids in my class. ( Christmas presents). We saw He's Just Not That Into You. Don't get me started on the movie though. I was EXTREMELY disappointed to say the least. We had a lot of people recommend it, so we figured it would be great. I guess I am just VERY sick of the infedility that has sprung out in society. I feel like every movie we see ( we see like 3 a year) has some sort of infedility in it. I don't want to watch people ruin their marriages and especially on Valentine's day. I need to stop there or I will go on for like 3 hours about this topic.
So bad choice of movie but a fun night anyway!!!

The day I was waiting for....
When Lucy can wear a dress to church and NOT crawl and ruin it!!! Did I mention she has been walking for about two weeks now? The day she turned 13 months ( Jan. 27th) she decided walking was the way to get around ..she took steps by herself from 12-13 months but finally decided it was what she wanted to do after about a month. Yahoo for us! WE LOVE IT! Its easier in many many ways. She has been able to have fun around the house while I am cooking or while shopping. She just seems happier because she is exploring and not whining and bored. We will see how happy I am when she starts to run! :) But for now it's the best!

i hate blogging sometimes
Before the solar lights
After...including our gate. The bottom is wet due to rain. We are currently in the process of painting it with a special paint so the wood doesnt change and get gross looking with the rain..

So i screwed up the last blog and wasn't able to post pics of the new fence to it...so now you are getting to see the after pics before you see the before pics. Whatever...blogging confuses me sometimes. At least the pics are posted!
New New New!
fuzzy picture....but this is Troy and Lucy putting up new faux wood blinds. We now have NO MORE vertical blinds throughout the ENTIRE house we have these! They are beautiful and look great!
Demolishing our nasty rotted fence
The view on our left...the white fence is our neighbors fence. The view to our right...this is our other neighbors place. Obviously we had to take down the fence from both sides and put up new fences between us and our neighbors.
Ta da! The new gate!!
A side view....we hung solar lights that light up for the first few hours after sunset. Those nasty toys in the corner are our dogs toys.....and they are soggy from the rain. But boy she loves being in the backyard! She now comes in from being outside and POOPS out for hours!
We have been very busy lately..having tons of fun as well! We are getting a pretty big tax refund so we have taken on some more DIY projects in the last two weeks. This is one of them! A new fence!! We are SO happy with it. Troy is SUCH a great DIYer....I am so lucky to have him around (hehe) he LOVES to do what most wives beg their husbands to do or at least hire help to do!! Next on the agenda....our upstairs bathroom--taking down the UGLY wallpaper border that came when we bought the place, painting, new baseboards, new medicine cabinet, new sink and cabinet, all new lights and faucet....maybe a new toilet if we feel like it! Then, furnishing our backyard and all new doors upstairs and touching up the paint we did this summer ...wish us luck!!
