A week of trials

Just thought I would give an update on Lucy. We went to her ENT appt. on Friday morning and basically the dr. said that if an ear infection doesn't clear after 4 months, there is a 90% chance it won't clear up at all. So he said Lucy has had her infection for 2 months now ( that we are aware of), so come back in two more months and see if it has gone away yet. Argh!! A little frustrating because her ears could end up being worse, and then she could possibly be losing hearing..but I am going to stay positive and say that she will be fine and the infection will be gone by then.

If not...he said we would talk about tubes.

My appt.= this coming Wed. wish me luck. My sinuses themselves feel better, but I still can't hear out of my right ear and I have had pains on my whole right side of my face for awhile now...so we will see. I have a feeling I might not get much news...but we will hope for the best.

Also---between now and March 13th I should be receiving a pink slip. Yes. My district says they have to cut teachers from 2003 to present. I was hired in 2004. I am PRAYING that something happens and they decide they can find money elsewhere and not have to cut so many teachers....but if I dont hear anything soon I am going to be interviewing for a new job. So if anyone knows of any place that is hiring..doesn't have to be teaching, please let me know!
This has been quite rough on us...and all the teachers in CA basically! There are 8 teachers at my school getting pink slips. We call ourselves the "Crazy Eight." We are sticking together and helping each other through it all.

I know at some point I will look back on this stage of sickness in our family and rough economic times and I will have learned a lot. Sometimes you just wish you could glimpse into the future....notice I said glimpse..not SEE. Oh well.

Off to doing report cards every night this week until they are completed. I am going to blog pictures soon I promise! The tone has been pretty dismal this week due to me getting the news about the pink slip so I need to start being happy and taking pictures!

Have a great rest of your weekend! I know we will! There is one wonderful thing to report, I LOVE MY FAMILY! I am so grateful for my loving and supportive husband Troy and my ADORABLE daughter. I just have to say that this time in her life so far is my most favorite. I need to remember that. A lot of people say 6 months..I say 13-14 months!

PINK SLIPS SUCK!!! At least you know what is going on, they are so hush hush in our district. All I here is what people "think" they are going to do, not what they really are doing...uggg, so frustrating. We are in NO position to have me loose my job too, as I am sure you are as well. Just keep praying, and like you said hopefully we'll look back at this time and think, we got through it...things happen for a reason right?

I'm sorry about the pink slip :( I hope you can find a new job if you end up getting let go! That is hard. Life is full of seasons, and when you're in a rough one just remind yourself that this too shall pass. In the meantime you are right to count your blessings :)

It's funny this is your favorite time with Lucy because so far this is the hardest time for me with Ethan. I keep hoping things will get easier with him, and I'm sure they will SOME day :)

Oh no! I'm so sorry about the pink slip, the sick baby and everything else that is going wrong. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I really hope Lucy gets better. Is it too late now to give her antibiotics? Or is that still out of the question?

So,my junior year of college I got this horrible upper respitory infection that knocked me out for over 2 months. I was really really sick. It went to my ears and also spread to my eye, they said I had conjunctivitis which is basically pink eye but it lasted about 6 weeks, 3 of which I woke up every morning to sealed closed eyes.

When I went to the doctor he told me I had to change my diet and sleeping habits. I thought that was interesting. He said that my immune system was directly related to those two things. So he told me not to eat very much meat at all and try to cleanse my body with tons of water and fruits and veggies and of course sleep more. I was only getting like 4 hrs at the most. It actually helped. Anyway, long comment but maybe that will help you. I'm sure you're almost to the point that you'll try anything.

Hope you and Lucy feel better, we Love you guys!
